Canada-U.S. NORAD Modernization Summit

NORAD Modernization represents the most significant investment in continental defense capabilities and collaboration between the United States and Canada since the signing of the NORAD agreement on May 12,1958.  To facilitate and optimize the implementation of NORAD Modernization, the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AmCham Canada) with support from the U.S. Embassy is establishing the annual Canada - U.S. NORAD Modernization Summit.

The inaugural edition of the Canada – U.S. NORAD Modernization Summit will be coordinated by AmCham Canada’s Defense and Security Committee and will seek to establish early and continued engagement between industry and government on both sides of the border to ensure the success of this generational modernization of Canada's Northern and Arctic defence capabilities.

The Summit will encompass a series of activities designed to facilitate engagement by senior representatives from industry with key officials from government agencies, including DND, ISED, PSPC, RCAF, NORAD/USNORTHCOM, the US Embassy and USAF.  To ensure a diverse and inclusive representation, the Summit will seek to include a broad range of stakeholders including Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), Indigenous companies and defence companies from the U.S. and Canada.

The inaugural 2024 edition of the Summit will include an invitation only VIP Reception held at the Residence of the U.S. Ambassador along with a NORAD unclassified briefing and a conference program conducted in partnership with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI). Conference details below.

Initial plans for the 2025 Summit include a classified briefing to be held in Ottawa.
